Welcome to Paisley St George’s
To promote God’s Word and to welcome and support all
Our minister is the Rev Hazel Shaw
It is all very exciting and I am so pleased to be the first full-time minister of Paisley St George’s. Thank you all so much for the most amazing evening on the 19th of April when I officially became Rev Hazel and your new minister. Everyone who came ( and there were hundreds) was so impressed by your wonderful hospitality and I cannot thank you enough for being so gracious and generous welcoming and offering refreshments to so many travelling from far and wide. It was an amazing worship service with music and singing filling the church, with prayer, scripture and teaching – certainly an evening I will never forget.
Our Livestream
YouTube have removed the ability for us to display our next live stream automatically. Please visit our worship page where you will find Each Sunday’s livestream.
Paisley St George’s is a congregation serving Paisley between our two buildings which are in Causeyside Street in the town centre, and Nethercraigs Drive in Glenburn.
The congregation has roots going back to 1738 when the Laigh Kirk opened to reduce pressure on the Paisley Abbey who were then having three services each Sunday due to the growing population of Paisley. Between 1738 and now, the congregations that make up Paisley St George’s represent 1,114 years combined ministry to the people of Paisley – something we are proud to continue in 2024.
Church of Scotland in Israel and Palestine
Not one of us can fail to be moved by the scenes from Israel-Palestine. We find it hard to understand the multi-layered political situation. We watch the graphic images and we pray for peace. As you know the Church of Scotland has a presence in Israel-Palestine and some of you, like me, will have worshipped in this land. To help people respond to the crisis, the Church of Scotland has gathered resources to help individuals and congregations understand the situation better and how to respond to it.
This page will be updated with news, events and resources as they become available.
